Beginner Private Lessons

If your child is new to horseback riding, we recommend starting with private lessons. Our experienced instructors will work one-on-one with your child to teach them the basics of riding and make sure they feel comfortable and confident on the horse.

Private lessons are 30 minutes long and cost $67 per lesson when enrolled in our Monthly Tuition Program.  Single lessons are available for $75.

Intermediate/Advanced Group Lessons

For riders who are ready to take their skills to the next level, we offer group lessons for intermediate and advanced students. These lessons are held in small groups of 3-4 riders and are approximately 40 minutes long. Monthly tuition for group lessons is $244 per month, which includes 4 lessons. If you prefer to purchase lessons individually, the cost is $70 per lesson.

Lesson Policies

Our location features indoor, heated stables, so we are able to offer lessons year-round.

Please be sure to review our policies before signing up for lessons. We want to make sure that all of our riders have a safe and enjoyable experience at Fire Riding Academy.

Age Requirements

Our riding lessons are offered for children ages 6 and up. At this time, we do not have adult rider lesson openings (with the exception of experienced Saddle Seat adult riders).

Required Paperwork

All riders must have a signed waiver and registration form on file before their first lesson.

Required Attire

To ensure safety during the lesson, riders must wear full-length pants and boots or tennis shoes. We provide helmets, which are required for riders under the age of 18. Riders are encouraged to purchase their own helmet after a few lessons.

Monthly Tuition Plan

Our program runs on a Monthly Tuition Plan, which includes four lessons for the calendar month. Missed lessons must be made up within 30 days, or they are forfeited. Lessons may be purchased outside of the Monthly Tuition Plan only as availability allows (see above for pricing).

Payment

All lessons must be prepaid by check, cash, or card.

Cancellation Policy

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Any lesson canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be forfeited

Ride Time/Arrival Time

Our lessons are approximately 30 or 40 minutes in length, depending on the type of lesson. This includes time for the rider(s) to get on the horse(s) and have their stirrups adjusted before getting started.

Riders should arrive at least 5 minutes early to ensure that they are ready to start on time. Ride time begins at the scheduled time. If a rider is late, their lesson will be shortened. If a rider is more than 15 minutes late, the horse will be untacked, and the lesson forfeited.

Weight Limit Policies

We follow the veterinary-supported industry standard that lesson horses can comfortably carry no than 20% of their own weight (saddle/equipment included).  Due to this, we have very limited availability for riders over 170 pounds.  Please inquire for availability.

At Fire Riding Academy, we're passionate about providing a safe, fun, and memorable experience for your child.
